Calling all Prayer Warriors!

Happy April!

I hope that spring is starting to at least tease you wherever this letter finds you!
Just a quick note here as we are in search of some prayer Warriors. What we are hoping is that especially over the next two weeks you can keep Danielle in mind as she finishes up her course through Kingdom Come Training. I am so proud watching her as she ‘ hits the books’  for the first time in a while and is really stretching herself.
The month of May we are looking to cover off each day with someone willing to keep us, our family, and our ministry in prayer. Please respond to us and let us know what day works for you!! bdsayer@yahoo.com
The following are a few prayer request, and if any come up throughout the month we will email them out on the day you’ve committed to.
·         The Lead Pastors from Kamloops Native fellowship are gone for two months on furlough. Please pray that they have a fruitful trip and are able to rejuvenate. Pray that the Kasten’s and ourselves as we will be that much busier in their absence.
·         For Danielle as she finishes up her course.
·         Pray for final travel plans for Native Youth Conference and that vehicles will run without any problems. That the youth would be able to come and no road blocks would prevent them from this experience.
·         That the Holy Spirit would continue to work in the lives of those in the Native community in Kamloops and the North Okanagan and soften their hearts to His leading.
·     That God would continue to protect our marriage and family.
Praise:  Fundraising has gone incredible well so far and enough money has come in to cover the fees for all the youth who have signed up to come and even some of the travel costs!
Thanks so much, we are so blessed to have you as part of our team!!
I have come that you might have life, and have it to the FULL John 10:10

Is that a leaf falling? sigh*

Hello again!
I hope that this letter finds you well and that you had an amazing summer!
We are all back home here in Coldstream and jumping headlong into all the excitement and activity that fall
brings. Very different than one year ago when we knew no one here and had no commitments as a result.
This fall has 3 of our children in school full time and Daman starting playschool. Another new phase in life and
one the kids seem most excited to take on. Kadence is starting piano this fall and Teagan is will be playing soccer.
The summer months were truly amazing as our first time as residence here in the Okanagan. The kids enjoyed the outdoors and all the different activities that are available. We’ve had lots of good family time with the kids including watching, as Teagan calls it “Diarrhea of a Wimpy Kid”.  We had an amazing time with all the visitors that came through and the kids loved the cousin time and getting to meet Ardi for the first time as well. They are counting down the days until Grandma’s and Grandpa’s will be coming for a fall visit.
Our trip back to Alberta at the beginning of September was a great opportunity to connect with friends and family even though it was a quick and busy trip. Sadly the Labour Day Classic was anything but a Classic but a good time with family none-the-less. We had the opportunity to spend a weekend at Camp Gladstone with the Native churches from the South. It was great to connect with community there, meeting lots of new faces and really enjoyed the family and getting more familiar with the camp there. We are very grateful for the leadership we are able to serve under with Interact and excited for what God is doing there.
This fall we will be starting to serve in the Native Christian Fellowship in Kamloops working with the Youth and pre-teens. We are excited to work alongside those already there and learn from them. God has blessed us incredibly and we are so grateful for this opportunity to serve Him.
We we love you to join us and support us in prayer. Please either fill out a response card or email us (bdsayer@yahoo.com)so we can keep you up to date with any urgent requests as they come up. Please keep us in prayer for the following items:
ü  For the kids as they start the new school year, especially Hayden as Kindergarten is Full Time here and it will be a big transition for him.
ü  That relationships with the youth will develop and that the Holy Spirit would begin to work in their hearts even now.
ü  For Balance between work, ministry, and family life. That God would continue to direct and provide for us and we serve Him.

We will be looking for churches to come and share our vision with so if you know of any that might be a possibility please let us know!
Thanks so much for all of your Love and prayers and hope to hear from you soon!

Sayers in Spring

*Sadly facebook changed our group and we lost all our members including the mailing addressed you all sent us. If you would like our letters, please send us your mailing address to bdsayer@yahoo.com and we will repost a group shortly. Thanks!!*

Hello again!
Well Spirits are high as spring is finally upon us. Amazing how the change in season gives you such a boost. We are looking forward to the summer season here and hope to catch up with a lot of our friends and family that we miss so much.
The kids are continuing to adjust nicely to our new surroundings. They just finished hatching out chicks out of an incubator and it was a lot of fun for everyone. “Funny Farm” sure is an accurate way to describe our new home!
Danielle is right back to old form, off and running and always on the go- just the way she likes it. She is also playing in the volleyball league here in Vernon as well as starting to run in long distance races. She and Teagan ran in a 5km all ages race and came in 37th out of 100 runners. Quite the competitive drive that boy has!
While all the change has been challenging in the last year we are so grateful that God has been faithful throughout and know he will continue to be. Thanks for all the prayers while we were hunting for a church to call home here. We’ve happily landed at Alexis Park Church in Vernon and have already made some good friends and started connected rather quickly.
We played host to an Easter Egg hunt at the Okanagan Nation and it was a good experience for us all as having to put ourselves out there and really leave it all up to God. It was something that was especially special as we were able to do it as an entire family and reach out in love. Thanks so much to those of you who partnered with us on that event. May long weekend brought us back to Alberta as Danielle and I had the privilege of serving at Native Youth Conference (NYC) at Camp Nakamun. It was exciting to see God moving among Native youth from all over Western Canada. There was aprox 300 youth at the event this year and the highlight of the weekend was definitely seeing 115 of them make decisions for Christ! It is amazing to think of the kinds of things God can do with that many new committed children. It was also exciting to have Danielle’s Brother and Sister Daylon and Darcy along with us.
God has been very faithful to us and while constantly challenging us and making us grow in our walks with him and preparing us for all that He has in store, it is always comforting to be able to look back and see his hand in everything that has brought us to where we are today.
We ask that you continue to partner with us in prayer for the following items:
- As we continue to develop relationships and build trust among the local native community
- For wisdom and unity and we search out God’s will for our lives and serve Him
If you wish to partner with us financially as we pursue the call of God on our lives to serve Him in the native community tax deductable donations can be made, specified with our names, to Interact Ministries at www.interactministries.org or Box 60029 Strathmore, AB T1P 0C2.
Thanks so much for all of your Love and prayers and hope to hear from you soon!

Catching Up with the Sayers

Hello Everyone!
It’s been a wild and crazy year and thought it was time to catch up to everyone. God has been faithful over the last year and in following one step at a time we have found ourselves landed in Coldstream, BC. It was a little over a year ago now that we really felt God pushing us in a new direction in our lives. A growing desire to serve with youth and children and to
get involve in the native community.

We have been accepted as missionaries with Interact Ministries. A group committed to reaching the unreached people groups of the NorthWest Crescent. They have been a great support and we have really enjoyed working under their eadership. God has blessed us with an opportunity to move into an area with a large, unreached native population

The kids have adjusted well to the move, although we are all missing having friends and family close by.
Teagan and Kadence have really enjoyed their new school at Coldstream Elementary. Hayden is enrolled in playschool at Vernon Christian school and seems to be enjoying it as well. Danielle has kept busy chasing the kids around with Daman, setting up our new home, and exploring all the Okanagan has to offer. Working at the General Manager of Parks and
Recreation for Armstrong/ Spallumcheen has provided a platform to get established here and create an entry point to create relationships with the native community.

Our email if you are trying to reach us is bdsayer@yahoo.com. We appreciate all of your prayers as we seek our God’s will for our lives. We hope to see a lot of you before too long, our
place is always open if you are coming through the area!

God Bless!
Byron, Danielle, and family
